Does anyone think the seedlings would like this, if I let it come to room temperature? There's probably some good fish poop in the bottom of the pond!

Don't bother. It's no better than tap water and may cause problems. Don't make this harder than it has to be. Use tap water.
NOTE: DON'T use tap water IF your tap water is UNFIT to drink.
Thanks Perp- sometimes I think too much. Hey, how do I go about giving you helpful points? You've been a good buddy!Quote:

You're right, and we do have a compost pile- whenever we muck out the pond we toss it all in- my veg garden was great this year!Quote:

Just kidding - LM you should not use your fish to fertilize with...use your neighbors fish:D
Not the pond water, itself but the brown gunk runoff from "vacuuming" the gravel is wonderfull.Quote:

And tap water should be checked before using. A simple, quick and cheap ph test kit is available at most nurseries and is highly recommended. My water tests consistantly above 9.0 and would be a plant killer if it wasn't amended. The same goes for rain water. Not often but sometimes it can be highly acidic, especially if forest fire smoke fed the storm clouds. It's always good to periodically check the water supply.
