Lighting Questions...

ok, my sis gave me a plant for chritmas... she was using a black light to grow it... they are just sprouting.... anyways, when she gave it to me, it looked for the most part DEAD... anyways... i gave it some water, and set it under my light(its not a grow light... but will hopefuly keep it alive long enuf to go get a better light)...

anyways, shes still claiming that a black light will work... but from the 2 people ive asked, say that a black light wont work... and she still claims it will work, and she insists that her friend who has grown befor, and has came out with decent grows, has used black lights....


but anyways, i just wanted to know weather or not a black light will work...

Isn't it obvious? You said the plant was almost dead so that should be a clue that the blacklight does NOT work. The only thing a I've ever heard a blacklight being good for was late in flowering, supposedly increasing the UV spectum to encourage more trichomes. Even this is just a theory and not proven to work.

Use flourescents if you can't afford a HID.

only thing a blk lights good for is psychedelic velvet posters n acid .
gotta go buy atleast a cpl. cfls for her n then you'll really want a good hps hid to get some really sweet budz.
