Is it weird?

As of now I'm not smoking and don't really plan on it.

I just got off 4 months of probation for a POM and had some piss tests so I took the initiative to not fuck up and smoke to pass the piss tests. That was hard at first, then I inevidably dropped a few bad seeds from my selected group of friends and realized they weren't friends, they were just...drug oppurtunities? I quit and they became scarce, not my problem.

Anyway, I'm trying to graduate and get a job so generally I don't have any money or time to center my life around marijuana like it was previous to me getting arrested and slapped with a POM.

However it seemed as though marijuana took a huge swing at my town. I'm talking about this is not a thing to relax off of anymore, it's more of a a social addiction and ego competition among all my old skating buddies. Whats sadder is the kids I found hassling me about it a year or two ago have nothing better to do nowadays except just that. It pisses me off. Its not even smoking its a fucking story. "Dude I spent 60 on a Z and we hotboxed this car with like 7 blunts to the head, 8 bowls, blahdy blahdy blah"

I partially blame it on my shitty excuse for a town, and their short attention spans and unproductivity.

Anyway in the midst of my quitting I still come to this site for open discussion about anything and talk to all my old pot head friends. No better no worse, except for the occasional fuck up that smokes all morning and sleeps all day then has the nerve to brag about it with a straight face. I think it's weird considering how important weed used to be to me. Maybe I'm growing up and others around me are growing down?

i know what you mean about the growing up/down but wether you think a person is immature depends on your maturity level

im going through a similar situation in life, instead i still smoke weed and occassionally drink, but quit doing everything else. ive cut some "friends" out of my life, starting to abandon others. cause these people arent really my friends, just ppl i enjoyed getting fucked up with.

there certainly is more to life than just getting high though. whether they are growing down, im not sure, but you are definitly growing up. how old are you by the way?

weed isnt for everyone people if it wasnt weed im sure theyd be bragging about drinking or some other drug
weed isnt a bad thing but once it becomes a big part of your life or takes priority over anything in your life its just not cool let them go burn out and end doing nothing with their life
most of the bad views on weed come from people that brag about how much they smoke or how high the got ect.. and im sure that does contribute to weed being illegal... :(
