WHat are the risks of growing weed for personal comsumption if you are careful about your grow?
DO many small growers get busted or is it just the big growers that grow mountains of it to sell?
I no its a grow q really but want to no EVERYBODies view.
All the risks depend on the person. The risks are necassarily just with the law, they are also with people who potentially want your plants.Quote:

The main risk is people telling their friends, or people they know about their grow. Once you tell one person, that person tells someone they know that you may not know, and it goes on and on until someone either rats you off, blackmails you, or just rips you off altogether. If you choose to grow, keep it to yourself.
It's usually the big growers who get busted. Mainly because they are running so much electricity that it attracts attention to the power companies. Plus, growing larger amounts is harder to conceal. Especially if you have friends over and are wondering about the stink in your basement, and why it is locked and sealed up down there.
So the main risk is someone not being able to keep their mouths closed about it. Other than that, it is easy to conceal and hide 2-6 plants in a small space and keep it secret. Less plants means less power is to be run, which means less attraction from your electric company.
Its just that big growers are always on the news buts there are hardly ever people on the news that just grow for themselves.
Because when there is more plants, that is a bigger risk.
There are some people who are running 4000W of lighting in there grow area, then there are smarter people who choose to run only 150W or 400W, so who do you think is more at risk? ;)
Big time growers also get more cocky with each grow. They figured, "hey, I got away with running a 1000W lighting system, lets do 2000W next time" and with each grow, they increase plant production and light production until, eventually, they run so much power that the electric companies are like, "WOW! $500 a month on power alone, we'd better investigate" and bango! Busted.
There are smart growers and there are dumb growers. The dumb ones run thousands of watts in their own home, tell their friends, and show it off. Then the smart growers who run much smaller amounts of lights that are not detectable, or, don't cause any sttention, who don't tell anybody, and don't show it off.

In England you'd just get arrested, and bailed. Then you'd probably get a caution or community service, or fined, and/or both.
But either way, 3 or less plants and i dont think you'd be looking at jail time at all.
They care about real dealers growing, not small time personal ops, were not funding criminal activity, they know that. Once in a blue moon a cop will bust ya and not even confiscate them, but thats unrealistic, that really is once in a blue moon, luckily i've never been busted with a grow, but i got close once, say about 15 minutes too close for my liking.. Damn lucky that stupid seedling died and i threw it away before the cops came knocking.
