my plant is on the window sill where it doesnt get very much light,it is about 6inchs big and is already budding, should i introduce my plant onto the grow light slowly or not, it is a 250watt hps, how long should i put it on there for and could someone explain what the numbers 12/12 and digits like that mean, i dont want my plant to die. lol

12 hours light / 12 hours dark...which simulates the normal proces off the world...to be honest i would wack that thing under it as soon asap..try an get the most out of ur plant but to be honest i doubt ur gona get much bud! so put it nder the HPS bout 15" away from the top of the plant on 12 hours light 12 hours dark ull need onea those 24r timers to get 12/12 automaticly but you can do it manually i spose... gd luck

All a normal light would do is create heat, and practically zero light the plant can use to convert into energy for chemical cycles. Floros are very often sufficient for home growing, i've seen some pretty nice crop with just floros, just make sure u keep the lights close, but not too close to create too much heat. Higher watted floros are gonna create some heat so the plant should be like 3 inches away for the higher watts, but some, like shop lights, are cool enuf that the plant can touch it and be okay. I've seen plants grown with only a double shop light(has 2 of the long floros, i THINK you want likea soft white and warm red?): http://www.overgrow.com/edge/showthread.php?t=21575

I have GE, 40watt, 4' Daylight lights at 6500k, 3050 lums for veg, and GE Kitchen and Bath, 40 watt, 4', at 3000k, 3400 lums for flowering. Hopefully these will do the trick.
