CELL PHONES!

hey every body (particularly chisme and others withc cellphone knowledge)
i currently im on the list for a new phone. my service is Verizon wireless (california, usa), and i am looking for the all time coolest phone ever. nothing to fancy, nothing over 300$
i am willing to order over the interenet or go in the store and pick it up, what ever. even a list with pictures and info of all sorts of different cell phoneds would be cool. im looking for something nice, with cool features like keyboard, lights, MP3, video, usb plug, games, etc. doesnt need them all, but something cool, just please help me find a keeper, doesnt have to be super tough, but it is goi9ng to be in my pocket and may suffer a few drops and broken buttons.
P.S. i plan to get the top of the line warranty.

what is this obsession with fancy phones? i dont need cameras or color graphics or all those bells and whistles! all i need is a way to call my friends on tho. cell phones are just another practical item turned maniacally material. like the automobile--why the hell do we need televisons in our cars?

why do you need a car at all then? your perfectly capable of walking where you need to go? or using a bike or something? its all relative. but yes i agree lol, just playing devils advocate. i dunno tho, there are some pretty sick cell phones out there.

Stay the fuck away from samsung. Trying to use their UI is like trying to smoke ash. Worst fuckin thing ever.

Personally, I am a fan of motorola, the UI is simple and makes sense, and is fairly consistent among phones. I have an E815 and love it, I can tether over EV-DO and get ~350k near any cities, it's never dropped a call on me, it works like it should really. It's a bit large though, but you could probably pick one up for $100 or less. It's also open as shit, so you can easily make your own ringtones/etc.

I wouldn't buy any of the current gen phones, they are all tied down like a fuckin' kidnap victim. You really don't own what you own, it's awful.

what about the LG chocolate, does it take videos or pictures? i know it holds MP3s, and i would buy a 2 gig card for it, that way i could sell my ipod nano.
its going to be fore christmas btw.
im thinking i might just get another refurbished cheap phone (8$ usd) and then get a PSP. but i dont know, PSPs lack the right hand analog stick and that is why i probobly wont buy one.

Have any of you seen that disney phone for kids? The one that has a tracking device in it so the parents know exactly where the kid is at all times? I think it's fucking rediculous and if they expect their child to have that on them at all times then that kid will never be able to earn the trust he really needs to earn.
