Some stuff

So Ive been thinkin for a while about joining the Air Force and whatnot, and after a long talk with my girlfriend early this morning, I decided to go to the recruiting office today and enlist.

So I get down there, and Im talking to the captain in the office there, and shes taking my information, and she asks the question that killed me: Have you ever been in trouble with the law, you know, speeding tickets, been arrested, anything?

I sat there for a few seconds, before telling her that I had a posession and paraphanila charge and a weapons charge.

"well, that makes you ineligable to join the Air Force, sorry."

Isnt that some bullshit? The military needs bad mother fuckers :p like me in it!

That's the way it goes. Would you want someone with a criminal record flying billion dollar jets in the sky? I wouldn't, no offense. :)

There's either millions of dollars worth of equipt. you'd be trained on, and/or weapons to be trained on, and they don't want anyone with past charges to be responsible on those weapons. It makes sense to me.

It makes sense, but that doesnt stop it from being BULLSHIT. Its not like Im a real criminal. I just smoke pot, toke guns and run drugs. Really though, I was hoping to make a career out of this, and it sucks that i got the balls to join only to be shot down by some bullshit like that.

hey man i got a possesion and coceiled weapons charge last friday. i have a feeling its really gonna effet my future jobs/college :(

dude the air force as strict policies. you gotta be the best of the best to be in the air force. my uncle was a lieutenant colonel in the air force and just recently retired after servering over 20 years. once you get in they dont let you leave for a long time. maybe if you tried to join the marines your have a better shot.

Yeah I could probably get into the marines, but I dont want to go into any other branch of the service besides the Air Force. Meh, fuck it.
