A quick fan question if i may....
My GR measures about 3'x3'x6'. The growshop dude recomended one of these...

which removes 350m³/hr and costs £95
I can buy one of these...
http://www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/09/p4346309_x.jpg
which removes 110m³/hr for just £25.
Do you think the cheaper one will suffice?

Hello tripleblack
You say the Gr is 3x3x6, What is the CFM'S of those fans? What kind of lights in the GR # Cfls# HID?Your GR is 54 cubic big,how much air do you want to exchange and how fast .The more CFM'S the faster the air exchange.

spend the money and get a good 4" inline fan from Elicient or Fantech or Vortex or someone like that. They will remove more cfm, more consistently, and can pull harder (I swear an expensive 4" inline fan with the same cfm as a cheaper one will out blow it). They will also last longer and generally be much quieter. Grab yourself a speed controller and at 75% power the 4" 300cfm fans are near dead quiet behind a door or wall.

Cheers guys. I plan to run a 400w sodium light. Is it wise then to get a larger fan and a reducer? ie is say a 10" fan running at 25% going to be quieter than a 4" at 100%?

Yes this is a good practice. However...dont ever get more then a 6". A 500cfm 6" inline fan will cool 2 lights and a larger room no problem. A 10" fan will move around 750cfm or more and be very loud. Run a 4" inline with a speed controller, thats all you will need. If you ever plan on upgrading to a larger room or something, then get a 6" and turn it down a lot.

I think Racerx is right,A 4" inline vortex fan with a speed controller so you can control how much air you are moveing and how fast.Let us know which one you go with.:pimp:
