Consequences of getting caught growing

I know this should belong to the 'legal' section of the board but as the laws differ from country to country, i am plantin it here.

My question is, what do you think the consequences would be if one got caught growing 4 plants for personal use with no previous convictions?

I appreciate outcomes are different every time but i am just after a general idea and anyone unfortunate enough to share past experiences would be extremely helpful.

if you can prove its for personal use then you should get away with it, or a caution, if they can prove your dealing then its a max of 14 years

useally watch first,then bust and seek any evidence,weed bags scales etc,big giveaway weighed 1/8s 1/4s etc
