Hi
Im about to get started and was wondering which size jiffy pellets/puck to use. They seem to come in various sizes from 15/20/25/30/35/40/45 mm plus
Which size is the best to use? Or what sizes do others use and find that they do the biz;)

Are you trying to stick them in rockwool eventually? What system of growing?

Well I was hoping to do my 1st grow with compost etc, but I am trying to sort out a flood and drain system for any further grows, which will be with clay pebbles.
Lighting is being sorted for when they have germinated.
So maybe you could suggest to different sizes?

Well I wasnt even aware of sizes. What I did was buy a starter propagation kit that included 50 peat pellets and a dome. It was onlt 10.00$ which would be under 10 for you since I assume your on the pound. These pellets are aproximatley 1.5 diameter. If you are going into soil I dont think the size really matters ( thats what she said) :) The peat has everything a seedling needs to get them upto size for the transplant, no chemicals needed. Im not a soil guy so my knowledge is limited. Let us know how it goes and what you decided, dont kill yourself over deciding, just buy some and use them. They are cheap.... Hope I helped cya
I'm not a big fan of jiffy pellets at all.
I prefer using nursery 6-packs with a nice fine seed-starter soil.
Jiffies are all peat or sawdust if you get the lousy ones. They are hard to water properly.
i dont like them because the become rock hard when they dry out, which i assume makes it difficult for the roots to grow.
but i do have big healthy plants in them. so w/e
