Lights!1! and more Lights!1!1!
Hey peeps, i was wondering about lights, I am thinking of growing in a section of my closet, i think I'm going to get a 4 foot, 2 bulb florescent shop light, then for the actual bulbs I'm going to buy 2 40 watt 4' long cool white bulbs and 2 40 watt 4' long worm white bulbs, and cover the space with myler, will this be enough for 4 plants? and also i don't really know the equation to find how much these lights will make my bill go up by, so if anybody can help me out here it would make me very happy:D. aside from all that, i would like to ask everyone who reads this thread to write what kind of lights you use and by how much your bill goes up, it would help me to compare and make the right choice, and maybe help others. thank you.:stoned:
PS. I'm trying to make this grow fairly cheap

It can work, but it will be a low yielding grow. Are you going to use T8, T12 or T5 shop lights? T5's are pretty spendy, T12's are really cheap and T8's are in the middle and would be allright.
Your bill probably will only go up about 10 bucks if that with those lights IMO.

hey bear,
and little devil:)
4 plants? you need two double fixtures (this is based on my low budget grow)
for veg, go to lowes, get 4 GE daylight t 12 bulbs. these veg excellent. you'll have excellent veg results.
then for flower, get 4 kitch and bath bubls, add two 23w cfl's per plant for side lighting. you should be impressed with this setup. you'll have a long stretch period when you start flower, but this'll put you right on track:)
love, kp:p

for your request...
in the clone closet. 1 double 48"flo with GE daylight. this is powering 5 moms, one seedling, and about 20 clones.
downstairs. 10 23w cfl's on one monster of a bush plant.
flowerbox. 2 double 48" fixtures, 4 tube kitch and bath 40w, 16 23w cfl's.
my power for all of this is about 20$ amonth...
