Solar Energy for the serious grower.

In a few years I'm considering growing not only for personal use, but also to help support myself financially by selling marijuana to the cannabis clubs in Colorado and San Francisco.

Has anyone who's serious about growing invested in solar panels? They seem the perfect way to supply energy to lights inexpensively and without worrying about government involvement.

Does anyone have any information about cost effectiveness of these systems? I'm thinking about buying a small house in the next 3 years and am considering alternative sources of energy.

It seems like the smart, environmentally safe way to power all those lights.

i think the sort of panels ya are gonna want to power say a couple of 600w hps lights are gonna be quite expensive and very big in size too

You're gonna need
-panels
-either a big storage battery or a feed directly into the Grid for credit (your meter will, at times, turn BACKWARDS
-a/c inverter
-emergency shutoff at the panel so guys working on the line outside don't get killed.

I want a wind farm!!!

I was looking a while back at an article about solar panels if I remeber right there was a 150 watt panel that ran about $700 so in order to even run 1 1000 watt light you would need 6.67 of these panels now the part I am not sure of is do they put that out all the time or through out the course of the day either way it is ridiculous cost for startup and you would have to have your whole house and yard for a decent grow the panels were about 3' x 4' for that out put.

I think in 2-3 years time hopefully it will be more affordable:O

I'm just planning my dream house out in colorado. Sky lights, Solar Panels, Solar Powered Fans http://www.solaratticfan.com/pages/gable_fan.html like that etc. Probably work for getting some kind of wind/solar deal and sell my crops exclusively to the cannabis clubs.
