Odds of being busted through electricity

Not quite sure where this goes. But does anyone actually know of anyone who's grow was busted through their electricity consumption? I know we all hear of consumption being a basis for a warrant but does it happen as often as we think. or is it just another sort of myth created by the ultra paranoid. and if its not a myth how much wattage can you safely put through your house or apt. Ive heard 1000 watts per room. does that include bedrooms baths dining and living rooms also? is there anyone who is educated on this particular subject? thanks peeps :rasta:

Normally 15 amps per circuit....thats 1800 watts in the US.
