total newbie needs help

Hello, I'm a caregiver and a green thumb is not one of my strong points.
I have a self contained unit that I got from sunlight sheds, hydro with a metalhylid(?) yet the seedlings have yellow spots on the leaves. I have never tried hydro before it was suggested to me for space reasons and ease. Is there anyone out there who has experience with this type of system?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post that in advanced hydro.... Zandor or GN, and or some of the other growers will help.
