how do my babys look??

ello every1.. well my babys are 8-9 days old now under a 400 hps.. its a bit hot in there.. like room temp is 29c and just above plants its from31-34c.. but i have 2 fans blowing over the babys to cool them down and a carbon filter extracting the heat out.. my questions are... is the fans on them at this early stage bad for them?? coz the leaves shake alot.. the babys look stable jus mabe the constant shakin is slowing down there growth???? i have to have the fans on becoz of the heat my 400hps puts out.. i had the light at 12inches above the plants now the lights at 15inches.. allso i know this may sound silly but becoz i have the fans on the seedlings the dry soil gets blown about the grow room coz this be classed as a dirty grow room and welcome bugs? coz im sweepin up like 4 times a day no sooner i sweep i got back and the soils on the floor again.. but for sure next grow im deff starting off with floros to give my babys a nicer less stressfull start... they are in little square pots bout size of a coffe mug.. i think i will repot them in to thee next home in bout 5 days.. i just cant wait till they get older.. i worry bout them so much as babys.. heres few pics:thumbsup:

They look ok for now. The temps worry me a bit. I would really try to work on decreasing them. Do you have any kind of cool tube or plexiglass isolation for your light? That will REALLY help with your temps. That is going to be your main problem. So far, they dont look heat-stressed, but they can die in a moments notice when they're that small.

Dirty growroom...I'd say its ok...I mean, just cuz they soil is on the floor instead of in the pot, I wouldn't have any reason to believe that that would be a better haven for bugs. Just keep sweeping up...or fashion something to cover the soil...something with holes in it for the plants, of course.

becoz i only have the 400 and 250 hps.. n i thought the heat diff wouldnt be much diff.... i dont have a cool tube so bummer there.. i will just have to keep a good eye on my babies... as i said b4 next grow i will start with floros.. jus hope im ok this grow.. but thanks for ur relpy TheGreenFog much apreciated..:thumbsup:

I used a 400w hps from start to finish when they were that little I just put the light about 3' or so above the plants till they got a little bigger just hold your hand under the bulb when you can't feel any heat on the back of your hand add about 6 more inches

they sure do look like babies, good start

Maybe 400W is a little too much to waste right now?

I mean energy to waste, making all that heat, not even houseplants in there to benefit?

Do you drive an SUV down to the UPS store to overnight your christmas cards?

With the temps you got and the size of the babys i wouldn`t worry obout tryin to get the light as close as pos your babys will be fine right now with the light about 18 inches away you don`t want to dry them out witch brings me to your next problem seedlings like it quite humid so you can give them a light misting(just a spray or so) every couple of hours or so and that will also keep your soil were it should be.
Your right to keep your fans goin i use a 400 and have the same problems just keep it on the lowest setting it won`t stunt em only make them grow stonger.
I would gently try and bring your light down but give them time take temp readings from top of the plants if its past 30c i wouldn`t take it down any further.

elllo zigi.. thanks for ur input;).. they are 5 dutch passions blueberry and 6 nirvanas ak48s... grown under 1 400watt hps.. in bio bizz light mix .. no added ferts yet.. they are only like 12-13 days old now.. i repoted 1 this afternoon as it was in 1 of those tiny seed cups... they are growing slow.. the heat has gone away now if i have the light at a resonable hight like 12-14inches from top of plants.. i will put the thermomitor just above my plants now and check there exact temp.. im guessing from 29-32c.. lets see..well i just sat there holding the thermomitor just above them for bout 2mins.. temp was 30c.. room temp at moment is 25c.. but lights off droped to like 15c the other night lights off.. but i left my tent mostly closed near lights off.. then i closed the window just leavin it open like half a centermeter bout 20mins b4 lights off till mornin.. and the temp was 20c.. so im hoping doing that every nighjt will help my babys out.. gotta go to eat now peps .. :thumbsup:

Excellent recipe for a mold problem...

Cannabis seedlings can take it hot and dry if they have enough moisture in the soil.

I let the surface dry out just a bit, even for seedlings. As long as the roots stay moist they are happy.

My seedbed is currently at 80-88 degrees F and 30% RH... they look great.


Also, don't bother repotting them. Those pots are perfect right up until the plant is a good 8 inches tall and has maybe 6-8 nodes, no problem!
