sever wilting after transplanting clones
after 13 days in a rapid rooter plug, under a humdity dome, two clones were transplaned. they looked quite healthy (although yellowing just a tad) this afternoon they were transplanted into a medium of coco fiber and perlite. Over a few hours they wilted severly. Should I be misting them? Should I just wait for them to revive? They are directly under a 4 foot shop light with grow bulbs.

if they have wilted they probably dont have good enuff root systems to be left out of a humidity dome yet.

Is the light too close to them? They are still in their cubes right? Sound like they are overheating. Honestly though, I know zero about clones

what i know is, when u have cuttings, to determine if they have a good root system you take the dome off of them, and if they have wilted after an hour or so- it's not good enough. i dont know what you should do now that you have transplanted them, but i would suggest misting them lots... i dunno what else

hey, I checked, you are absolutely right, no root development, they are going back into the dome... odd... its been 14 days

How the clones were taken, what rooting compound was used, and what type of strain the clones are, can all affect how long it takes them to root. I do mostly Trainwreck, which in rockwool cubes, takes about 3-3.5 weeks for them to really really root. I have another strain, an unknown I have grown from seed, that roots in 1.5-2 weeks! Always 1.5 weeks earlier then the TW. You should have good root development before transplanting, otherwise they just loose their moisture way to fast.
I have made mistakes once in awhile, planted clone to early under to much light. Usually I am able to salvage the plant by either removing it back under a dome, or cutting a 2 Liter bottle of soda in half and creating an individual humidity dome over the single plant.
