Hey, I'm a student at a small college that thinks pot is horrible. My roommate got kicked out of here 3 years ago for being in the same room where they found marijuana, just being present got him booted. Now i chose to persuade one of my classes to legalize marijuana, and for the most part they are against it. Iv'e been doing research but can anyone give me good credible studies, laws, or attempts in the lagalization of marijuana that could back my argument up.

Im in michigan, but any state would be fine for evidence.
All I tell people is look:
1. Marijuana is less additive and less harmful to your body than alcohol or cigarettes.
2. Except for the tar (which could be fixed by a vaporizer) there is nothing harmful entering your body.
3. If people used it responsibly, i.e. no driving or heavy machinery, or better yet, only smoking in your homes and in hash bars... because if america had hash bars it would be awesome and noone that didn't want to be around smoke would be bothered.
I have always thought that hash bars along with no smoking outside laws could make smoking something that would be good for us stoners, but not effect the people who don't smoke.

SUMMARY: HUMAN STUDIES ON MEDICAL USES OF MARIJUANA
There have been hundreds of studies on the medical uses of cannabis
since its introduction to western medicine in the early nineteenth century.
A review of the literature reveals over 65 human studies, most of them in
the 1970's and early 80's.
* The best established medical use of smoked marijuana is as an
anti-nauseant for cancer chemotherapy. Marijuana's efficacy was
demonstrated in studies by half a dozen states, involving hundreds of
subjects. Most research has found smoked marijuana superior to oral THC
(Marinol). Many oncologists are currently recommending marijuana to their
patients.
