Doomed to die?

My friend recently started growing in his basement without his parents permission. That's not a biggie, his parent's are slow, and never go down there.

But there are two small problems:

One, my friend has no idea how to grow, and seems to think you just plant it, put light on it, and water it, and POOF! Marijuana.

Secondly, my friend is an idiot.

I don't actually care, as the weed's most likely gunna be shwag. But out of curiosity, what do you think the plant's chance of survival is? He's not using a fan, because apperently his basement is cold enough... He didn't know you eventually need to feed it. and so on.

But within the last week or so, it's gone from a wee little sprout to a nice four-five inches.
I really don't know what to expect.

Sounds like it'll probably do OK, sometimes too much care for a plant is what causes problems. Just make sure he knows that when he wants it to start producing buds, he'll have to get a timer and give it light for 10 to 12 hours per day, and leave it in complete darkness the rest of the time.

as long as he has good light (see above post) and a general purpose fertilizer for when the plant gets bigger, it should do just fine.

aslong as you tell your friend to come on here and read he will be more then fine;)

haha good advice. granted he can read. his friend made him sound pretty dumb. lol.

thats all that you have to do and you can get very high quality weed. you might not get as much as if you used ferts and fancy lights and stuff but hey, i just planted 3 bag seeds in my back yard and when they got a few inches tall i put them in my attic with 5 cfls and a little fan and now i have three very nice females with around 8 to 10 tops each.

Im sure his rents will know something's up when those babies start to flower and the whole house smells like herb.

If his friend can't read, he can alway go to youtube.com and watch the grow videos they have (" Ready set grow chapter 1-14 "). Then he can come back to this site and ask questions and learn to read :p . JamesTurncoat, what type of lights is your friend using? I hope he's not using regular light bulbs. It's good to have a fan near the plants to keep the air circulating. All you need to grow the plant is Good air, good water, good light, and good soil ( The way god made it) :thumbsup: . Another thing you need to tell him is to keep the plants under the light ( with light on :p ) for 18 hours or more ( Even 24 hours a day if he wanted) for Veggie ( so that the plant will grow) for 1 month ( from start ).
