How Long till you can Germinate Seeds?

I have a Sexed Plant and its Seeds are getting Ripe. They are fairly neon green in colour now. I undertand that I should harvert them when they are dark Green in clolour and can start to see Tiger Strips.. not too sure of the scientific name for that.

I was wondering (A) If My above information is correct and (B) when I harvest them Can I germinate them right away or is there a waiting period I must do to Prepare the seeds for germination?

I guess since Im here whats the best way to store seeds? A cool dark place?
