My plants just went into flowe a week ago and the fan leaves are so big that they shade my other plants from light . i was wondering if clipping the (realy)big leaves would harm my plant ? and if its ok to clip them how do i go about doing so?

I have seen some growers snip the tips from the fan leaves ... Ive grown successfully for a very long time, and I have never snipped any ... the fan leaves are like 'solar cells' to power your plant's growth, so if you snip, I would do so sparingly ... :smokin:
at this point in the plants life, it needs the fan leaves, the plant draws nutes from the leaves which is why they turn yellow, its part of the process
Im definately not arguing anybodys point here, but my friend has eight mango plants growing and he has stripped fan leaves off as they have grown.
Currently his plants look absolutely fantastic, and it doesnt seem to have had any detrimental effect, and now only has 2 weeks to go..
I personally only remove the leaves shielding light to lower bud areas, and again no negative results from doing this.
If you dont want to take any away, but are concerned about lack of light to the lower regions, could you not add another light?

it's your plants, do whatever you want to them ... but, you may like this idea better ... a friend of mine invented an idea, that worked terrific ! ... I will add it to my next cabinet project: he placed a 'floor' in his grow cabinet, at a 30-degree angle ... this exposed the top and side of the plant to the lamp ... he would rotate the plant every couple of days ... he wound up with amazing growth throughout the entire plant ... photo attached, so you can see the results ... :smokin:
the subject is changing I see, to more light to the buds, and floor angles etc.
in that case your best approach is to tie the branches back to allow more light in , at the same time you can play games, forcing smaller buds to put on more weight.
to achive this think about the LST methods (low stress training) when all the branches are tied down, its a RACE, race to be top cola, tie that top cola down, and the race is on again, and a new cola is top dog, and so on , and so on.
so tie back your largest colas and the race is on to be top cola, this way you force the smaller ones to be increased in size:thumbsup:

those pics are from a 'Joey Weed' Northern Lights/Cinderella99 clone I gave to a friend and med-user ... 'custom39' (who visits this forum now and then) dreamed up the idea of the 30-degree-angle floor ... LST works great, I've done that for years, but this angled floor is hassle-free, all you do is spin your plant around every couple of days, no fussing with strings, or bending stems ... either way improves lower growth, and LST does give you more time with your plants, which helps you spot potential problems before they happen ... :smokin:
