i switched my cfl over to 2 400watt metal halides how far should my light be from my plants im still in 19/6 hours of light plants are about 6 inches tall getin wide with 5 lobes there gettin real wide im impressed with cfl lamps but i kep hearin that the big lamps were better so i changed over wow what a difference i jus dont whant to burn them hours per day of light distence would be helpful thanks happy saturday

Yes a 400 can make a big difference in growth. Personally, I veg with the 1000 watter. I'm not sure why you are not vegatating them 24hours a day but what ever. How far you keep it from your plants depends on if you have an aircooled hood or not. Aircooled 24 to 30 inches from the plants is fine. No aircooled hood you should be about 36 to 48 inches from the plants with an oscillating fan being a must. Are you cool with that?
