Check these out man. Come pre-wired with a cord, a round reflector, and a clamp to hold it in place and allows it to be moved easily. We got 5 with 42 watt cfls and hung them from the ceiling by chains (you can see pics in my grow log in my signature) and the plants love it. Well......not as much as the new 1000w cool-tube :rasta:

ps: sorry if I hijacked your thread:confused:
use the splitter/plug adaptor and cheap extension cord combo. 6 23watt cfls, three cords, splitters and adaptors was all about 35 bucks. puts out decent light too, and i hang them where i want with fishing line.
I never use the splitters and use 6 23w's in my cloning area, but either way, just thought it might save people a few bucks.
Adieu
I use common household ceramic receptacles, and build a board w4-45cfl's...like 600watts. peace
major hint, too; Reflective walls, mylar or panda plastic really help expand your light penetration.
yea anyone know where to get some cheap cfls?
Im gonna use panda film so i dont have to buy alot of lights cause it will reflect 95% of light so having one 200w on 3 plants is ok
Wal-mart. And keep in mind the 200watt ones are actually only 42 watts. They put out 2500-2700 lumens a piece, depending on brand, and thats enough for seedlings, but once they start to grow bigger you'll need at least 1-2 bulbs per plant if you want them happy.Quote:

FYI 42 and/or45 watt cfl's are rated at 150w output...not 200
there are 125's and 200's watters on the market now...with an output of 500-600 watts.

$1.50 each plus whatever wire you need = very very cheap light board.
I'm gonna be using the boards I'm making for side lighting. One board for each side. Should give me some good side lighting. Which should also mean slightly fatter buds lower down on my plants :D
I currently have 2 sockets on each 16" board, but I'm thinking about picking up a couple more so I'll have 3 on each board.
Hell, seeing as theyre so damn cheap, I'll probly mount a few into a smaller cab I'm thinking about building for clones and seedlings.
Great stuff, dirt cheap, just need to learn basic wiring, which is really easy.
I made this last year...it works great...but, make sure you have some venting, because once you light up 4 of these babies...It does raise the temps a little. peace
