how is it doing??

i bought this plant from a medical center in LA
a week adn a half ago.
when i got it it was 3 and a half inches
now it is 5 and a half
and it's leafs grew very big.

here are some picures of what it looks like currently
do you think it will grow up to be any good?

also, i planted some seeds in soil, with out germinting them.
and i wanted to know is it bad to water the seed by pouring the water over the seed
if so where to i pour the water?
these seeds are my first plants.
