Okay so i know that 12/12 consistently brings a plant into the flowering stage it takes a couple weeks or whatever. But anybody ever hear about putting a plant in light lock out? Like a couple of days of darkness to speed up the flowering stage or maybe a 8/16 ?? Just curious
have heard of using 24 hours darkness between veg and 12/12 suposedly it will decrease flowering time havent never tried it though.
increasing the dark period will also decrease flowering time but it can also hurt yield if you cut it to much.
I've also heard of a 24 hour darkness period before the 12/12, but I've never done it myself.

I have tried this before after reading about it on Over Grow. I tried it and I do believe they got off to a faster start, although it was not a controlled experiment. I gave the plants 2 days of dark, and then continued on with 12/12 like usual and they seemed to produced buds a little faster. Like I stated it was not a controlled experiment so I can't be sure it worked but it did seem so. Just my input.
