Help - Growing (Newbie)

My mate gave me a seed, well he doesnt know much about growing and has just started like last week (I know this should be in the growing section but more people will see it here.)

Basically heres what he told me, get the seed and put it in a dark damp place so the roots can grow, then put it into a pot leave it near a window seel behind a netting (so people cant see in) and basically just water it once a day and when it gets bigger u water it more i just though WTF u cant be serious

would this even work?

Nah. That wont work. You gotta think of light times. If your going to grow it with sun, it needs to be ojutside, or in a greenhouse. Infact, a green house is great.

But this time of year its gunner have to be an inside job.

Yeah, of corse. I used to be a regular on the indoor growing and basic forums, just dont bother anymore, too many peple asking the same Q's over and over again lol.


I've been growing for years.

Did my first plant with my cuz geoff when i was 11.

I grow about 5 at a time.

Havnt got a grow going on atm though lol :(

Got thousands of seeds though atm, just refraining from growing them.

I might start selling cheap... they were free lol!!

well he tried this and it got to about 4 inches high? so it still wouldnt work?

how did you get five thousand posts and you don't even grow? That's alot of fucking yapping, respect.

You dont have to grow to smoke weed, i just used to buy all the time but im getting bored of it i wanna get into growing lol

That's why I don't bother with the growing sections anymore either. :o

The way your friend desribed growing will work for about 2 or 3 weeks, then the plant will require food and proper lighting. If no food is provided, there is a good chance it will die from starvation, aka. a defiency.

After the first 2 or 3 weeks of life, a plant will require food for the stage it is now entering, called the Vegetative stage. There are 3 sets of numbers on a container of ferts., they stand for N-P-K. For vegging, the plant will need something high in N (Nitrogen). Without it, again, it may die from starvation.

I would worry about that stage right now. Germinate the seeds by placing them inbetween layers of wet paper towel. Place is a warmish, dark area, and keep the paper towels wet at all times. Do not let it dry out. Once the seed has a taproot about an inch long, you can now plant in soil. Again, keep that soil moist at all times until you see the plant first pop.

Get to the stage where the plant first pops through the soil, then go onto the next stage.

You will need proper lighting or you will get nada. Put it outdoors and let mother nature do its thing, but if you're like me, winter is starting and indoors is ideal. Keep the light on for 18hrs, then 6hrs off.

First of all 1 seed will not do you right there is the male/female ratio you have to think about. A window seel will not do either!! Hit up doc chronic for seeds order some cheap nirvana seeds and practice with them!
