what should i do? roots grew around airstone (PICS)
hey all.
i went to go change the solution in my 4 gal. bubbler system and i find that the roots have grown completely around the airstone. it's stuck pretty bad.
any suggestions on how i release it?
also, do i need to transplant into a bigger bucket, 'cause it looks like it's starting to get a bit rootbound? plus i completely cracked the lid when i lifted it.
on the bright side, the plant is doing beutifully. She's already taller than me!

You are OK...As long as you keep the roots submerged in solution.
don't worry about stones...that aleways happens in buckets...next time get a couple 4-5" stones and glue them with aquarium sealant to the botom of the bucket....peace
By the way...That is one "Hot" photo there! Let me know if I can help You in the future...

It seems u have enough space with the roots, bigger bucket wont hurt but that thing is pretty big already how much more is it gonna grow?

I have no idea. I wasn't planning on it getting this big. it's only day 17 into flowering, & it's grown 2 ft during that time, so i'm kinda wondering myself when it'll stop.

You can just disconect the ones that are in the roots and install new ones. After you are done you can get those back and use them again.

i had a similar issue today wen i changed my res. i have 3 plants in the same bucket and the roots have intertwined themselves and grown into the water pump and filter, around the airstone and around all piping lolll
is it ok to cut a few of the roots to get em out? i really had no choice

i tugged on that airhose as hard as i could. doesn't want to disconnect. maybe i'll cut it, or just leave it in their. at least i know that the roots are getting a good supply of air. lol.
anyway, if you're still paying attention, any ideas on what to do about the lid. it's cracked almost in half. i'm not worried about the light getting through, but it's not holding under the weight of the plant and it keeps tipping over. the only thing keeping her upright at the moment is the closet door being closed.
