Help -Cloning/Little Smurfs under CFL?????
Hi everyone,
I have a few questions with using CFL on new smurfs that have just come out of the cloning machine / mini green houses.
We are arranging a wire rack system in our veg area that will have 5 shelfs that are 4.5' (54 inches or 140 cm) long and 1.5' wide (18 inches 46cm). We are looking at using florescent lights (2 buolb per light) which are 40 watt bulbs manufacturered by GE and are classified as a "Plant & Aquarium" bulb.
Can anyone comment about the pro's and con's of using this set-up?
Thanks for any suggestions!!!!!:)

I'm to lazy to look up the light specs for Flouros but make sure the kelvins line up right with veg stage in the color spectrum for ur plants. Sounds good for clones tho

NO! TRUST ME FROM EXPERIENCE!!! plant and aquarium will grow your babies, but it is not the right spectrum, therefore you won't get optimum results. i switched my p and a bulbs for GE daylight bulbs (40w, 6500k, 3050lum ea!) wow!!!!! best growing, best looking plants i've ever seen. seriously, daylight bulbs kick ass!! use these.
love, brooke:p

brookerosebud- do you just have one ballast? how many plants can you really grow with just one (I can set up some cfl's once they are bigger...)
