After the Democrats take back the House and the Senate, do you think anything will change? Democrats are onboard with the neocon phony war on terrorism, the occupation of Iraq, the re-invasion of Afghanistanâ??now that the Taliban are resurgent, not that they ever went away, as resistance to occupation is to be expected, as we can expect the sun to come up tomorrowâ??and the dismantlement of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the construction of a police state at home. It is said the leak of an intelligence report â??found that the Iraq war has invigorated Islamic radicalism and worsened the global terrorist threat,â?� according to the New York Times, more evidence there will be yet another shuffling of deck chairs in Congress come November. According to Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic leader, the National Intelligence Estimate is â??further proof that the war in Iraq is making it harder for America to fight and win the war on terror,â?� never mind that such terrorism is state sponsored for specific reasons, not that we can expect Pelosi to tell us such things.
Of course, the classified National Intelligence Estimate was leaked for a specific purpose, as there is a tussle in the Pentagon between factionsâ??on the one side, members of the traditional military who consider the occupation of Iraq a disaster for obvious reasons and are keen to prevent a repeat in Iran, and on the other the â??civilianâ?� neocons who engineered the current situation. The National Intelligence Estimate was â??leakedâ?� to the media to make the latter look bad as the mid-term elections close in. If the neocons are deposed, the thinking likely runs, there is a good chance sanity will return to military policy.
Meanwhile, in Iraq, false flag operations, a honed variation of the Frank Kitson model, continue unabated.
â??An al-Qaeda-linked group posted a Web video purporting to show the bodies of two US soldiers being dragged behind a truck and then set on fire in apparent retaliation for the alleged rape-slaying of a young Iraqi woman by US troops from the same unit,â?� reports the Taipei Times. â??The new footage came hours after the posting of another al-Qaeda video, an apparent rerelease of a tape showing the execution of a Turkish hostage by the man purported to be the new leader of al-Qaeda in Iraqâ?¦. The images would be the first of Abu Ayyub al-Masri to be released since the group announced that he had succeeded Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was killed by a US airstrike in Iraq on June 7.â?�
As we know, al-Masri is a veteran of Bosnia and Afghanistan, two conflicts engineered by the CIA, and is undoubtedly an asset working for the military-intelligence apparatus. Naturally, hardened and fanatical jihadists work best in this role and chances are al-Masri, like the late Osama bin Laden, believes he is working in the name of Allah against the Great Satan. Of course, there is a good chance al-Masri is an engineered contrivance, an intel doppelgänger, especially considering these latest attacks come on the eve of Ramadan.
But the â??terrorist threat,â?� that is to say the proliferationâ??or seeming proliferationâ??of â??al-Qaedaâ?� black operations, is not restricted to Iraq.
According to Haaretz, â??credibleâ?� information gleaned from the â??intelligence communityâ?� indicates â??al-Qaedaâ?� is active in the Sinai and plans attacks â??using non-Arab nationals,â?� probably MI-6 assets from Britain. â??A few years ago, a bombing attack in Mikeâ??s Pub in Tel Aviv was carried out by two Britons who had little difficulty entering the country, using their British passports. Israeli security agencies are now looking at such a scenario as being more likely than Arabs seeking to strike out at an Israeli target.â?� It is said these Britons, Omar Sharif and Asif Hanif, attended the Finsbury Mosque in London. â??The leader of the July 7 suicide bombings in London, Mohammad Sidique Khan, has been linked to the two British suicide bombers who carried out a terror attack at the Mikeâ??s Place bar in Tel Aviv,â?� the Guardian reported in July of this year, citing Ynet News. â??The Sunday Times suggests that Khan may have been behind the attack in Tel Aviv, saying the Israeli police confirmed that Khan had visited Israel on February 19, 2003, two months before the suicide bombing attack at Mikeâ??s Place.â?�
Like Mohammed Atta and the September 11th patsies, Khan was under surveillance before he allegedly blew up at train at the Edgware Road station in London. â??Investigators found a bug in Mohammad Sidique Khanâ??s car, proving that Special Branch had him under surveillance,â?� the Times Online reported on June 26, 2006. â??If, as suggested, the bug was planted by Special Branch in a surveillance operation against Yorkshire Islamists, why did the authorities fail to stop Khan attacking London?â?� Obviously, this is a no-brainer, left generally untouched by the corporate media. Moreover, according to the official version of events, Khan traveled to Malaysia and the Philippines in 2001 to meet leaders of Jemaah Islamiah, an intel asset linked to Indonesiaâ??s Intelligence Agency and Army Special Forces, Kopassus, trained by the CIA and U.S. Special Operations Forces in psychological operations (see my Bali Bombed Again, Intel Op Jemaah Islamiah Suspected).
Once again, the convoluted trail leads back to the usual suspects, invariably working for intelligence operations. Naturally, â??an intelligence report that found that the Iraq war has invigorated Islamic radicalism and worsened the global terrorist threatâ?� needs little translationâ??in fact, newly â??invigorated Islamic radicalism,â?� the bread and butter of both Democrats and Republicans, remains foursquare, as it will for the indeterminate future. Our rulers, regardless of what side of the aisle they hail from, will continue to exploit intel-generated terrorism for political purposes, viz., as a device to rob us of our constitutional birthright, erect a police state, and shovel incomprehensible piles of cash into the coffers of the military-industrial complex.
Certain elements of the neolib bankster crime organization may want to wriggle out of the quagmire of Iraq and depose the neocon factionâ??the locus of so much misery with its Zionist-centric ideologyâ??but this does not mean manufactured terrorism will go away come Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Such is simply too important and is now indispensable to the rule of our bankster oligarchy.
