Hey guys/gals,
I am just starting to look into hydro and will be using a 10 gallon aquarium set-up. Anyone got any pointers for me? I have done a good deal of reading, but its best to find out from the people already doing it.
Peace.

Describe what you're going to do with your aquarium please.
Or build it, post pics, and stand back for a critique.
Have you grown at all before?
BTW an aquarium can be a real pain in the ass. They are fragile, develop leaks easily, can't be drilled, and aren't lightproof.
I'd go for a simple rubbermaid-tote setup like a flood-and-drain.
VERY simple and cheap to assemble.
stinkyattic,
Hey brah thanks for the reply. I will be using a 10 gallon aquarium, running a air pump to a 12" air stone set at the bottom of the tank. I plan to cover the glass with a black mylar to block the light from getting to the roots. Using 1 1/2 - 2" styrofoam as a floating platform with holes cut into to it to suspend 3" mesh pots lined with coconut fiber and using a 50/50 perlite/vermiculite mix as the medium. I want to purchase either a 400 wat metal halide or hps light.
Would appreciate any advice, as I am new to this growing process, or growing at all. The reason I am using this set-up is because I work at a pet store and can get a discount on the stuff needed to make it. :rasta:
Everything sounds good except for the fish tank. You can take the other parts ad a couple of 5 gallon buckets or even a couple of 3 gallon buckets and make a DWC system.
Zandor,
could you give me a little more direction on how to set it up with two 5 gallon buckets? If I went this route should I use a 6" or two 1" air stones?
*Anything I post here is purely hypothtical, I do not condone anything against the law.*:rasta:
