How soon...

As in a previous thread, I stated im going into the USAF. I have been a regular stoner for a few years, and i'd only smoke about a ounce a week. My question is, how soon can I take a drug test to get in the USAF? As it stands right now, the only thing in my way of being from being in the air force is my physical.

I stopped smoking on Saterday, four days ago. I've been running a mile every day as well as doing physical excercise. What would you believe the estimated time would be? Would it be possible to take my physical before October?

Well for one thing you didn't give enough info like height and weight (to tell your body type) smoking history or habits like daily or multiple times a day, how much each time, quality, how long before stopping, etc.

Besides stating this to make an accurate guess, the next thing would be to use a home test a couple of days before the actual test.

I'm 5'11, about 150-160 pounds, around the last month my city has been dry of nugget, so Schwag has been what I have been smoking (I dont have a car, and I couldent drive the 30 miles to get some good stuff).

Two weeks ago on Friday, I bought an ounce of schwag and smoked it in a day... With the exception of a quarter I smoked last Fri-Sat, i've been dry since.

Wow, that ounce in a day is kind of a deal breaker. So you smoked that (Sept. 8th?), went with nothing, then smoked a quarter on the 15th and 16th? If this is right I would say do a home test around October 10th and see what it says. I wouldn't be surprised if you failed it and needed another week or two. It is hard to tell so home testing is the best way to tell. You would be surprised at how many people take more than 30 days to get clean.

Well if you do pass let me tell you, you'll ruin your career in the military if you fail a test while instated.

They have a zero tolerance for this and you will be discharged. Think about this if you want to make a career out of it.

My cousin was in the air force for 15 years and was making a real good living out of it till he failed a drug test for pot. He was immediatley dismissed. He wishes he would have never smoked it and he only did occasionally.

Now his career is over and he's working at Wal Mart. Sad man....very sad.

Thats why I quit. I don't have to take the test until I, myself decide to take the test. The sooner the better though, because if I want to get into what I want to be doing, I will have to pass my physical by October, if I can't, then i'll have to wait an additional two months on top of the waiting time associated with the program normally.

I figure when im in the military, I will just go sober until I can drink.. Pot isn't that big of a deal to me, even though I spent a few grand on it a month, I pretty much do what I want to do without being one of the potheaded addicts who go crazy when they don't have it.
