How much can I grow with this?

How much weed can I grow with one of these and which one is the best one? Is the most expensive one more worth it? Do those even work with weed?

I always wonder why people buy those when you could make
it yourself with a rubbermaid container, sub pump, a growing
medium and hoses.

Well I am absolutely clueless on how to do this and im looking for somewhere where I can get all the materials together.

See, I told you not to jump to conclusions. You are in an area whre I know a little bit. First of all the other guy is right, you could build it for way less than what those guys are asking. But as far as yields go, much depends on light. ie; 400 watt, 600, 1000 etc. A 14 plant hydro set up with a 100hps/mh will produce between 8 and 14 pounds a year. But there are many important things to consider. You should consider an all in one pre-made cabinet box if you can swing it. They take care of exhaust fans, lights, timers, filters for odor, co2 and a ton of other things. Buy a good book (or 3) on hydro cultivation, run through the FAQ's, you may not get much of an answer as most people on this place have no patience for helping newbies. I learned that the hard way. It sucks but it's the deal here. But they are helpful with more advanced questions. Buy a High Times and see what is out there in terms of grow cabinets/closet set ups. http://www.growcloset.com/ This site will give you an idea of what one of these systems is like.
