Anyone ever experience this?

My friend asked me if I had ever seen anything like what he was experiencing. The plants have been into flowering for several weeks now and most of the plants that are obvious females have very pronounced white hairs protruding from the calyxes. There are a few however that are in question. They have absolutely no sign of any male sacks and in fact the colas look very much like the others however they arent white. They seem to remain green looking. Is this the result of a nutrient lockout? The plants have been on a water onyl diet for a week and a half with only one fert. feeding in the week before that. Any input?

I am going to say they are males, but wait till they show sure signs though. Usually the male plant is taller, better growing plant that is not as bushy as the female. These are other signs to look for when diagnosing.

The males tend to flower much quicker......

Do write off those green only plants they are probably slow developing females......

If the pistils are green then I dunno what could be wrong. If the calyx's are green it's obvious theres nothing wrong.

I'm having a hard time picturing it. And speaking of which only pictures could help some one to answer your question :p.

They are starving why are you not feeding them any nutrients?

Your best bet is that these plants may take longer to flower then the other plants for some reason. Be sure to check for any football sacks daily to ensure there is NO pollen that will escape, if these plants do become males.

Well the best guess is they are slow developing females. They seem to form the same colas of buds and have no sacks they just look really green. It's really odd. And those plants had been given plenty of nutrients. They just stayed that way. He said the seeds may have been from a female plant that was polinated by a hermaphrodite so I'm guessing it might be something weird with the genetics, but he had no male plants and no confirmed hermaphrodites from the seeds. Pretty good odds.
