John Walters, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, gives this Anslingeristic statement on state efforts to legalize pot,
"If we don't stop them, everything else is undermined."
And in the September 2004 issue of National Review, he hits his Hearstian stride,
"The truth is, there are laws against marijuana because marijuana is harmful....
a case can be made that marijuana does the most social harm of any illegal drug....
For youth, the harmful effects of marijuana use now exceed those of all other drugs combined."
