quick question reguarding bongs

whatup guys. so recently my downstem broke and im gnoa invest in a new one when i saw this http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/onli...ProductID=3356

i want it really bad but im afraid the downstem wont fit in the hole in my bong. it says "standard joint size, 14.5cm" but which part of the downstem is 14.5 cm? im really confused. also do you just put the downstem stiraight into the bong hole or is a grommet required even tho its glass on glass. will a grommet even fit? the hole in my bong (without grommet) is about 15mm. im not sure if the units i was using were milimeters lol :rasta:

i cant help you with figureing out if it will fit. But since its glass on glass no your not going to need a gromet.

Well the top part of the downstem is what youwant to measure. I don't mean the hole, but the thickest part of the 'stem', ya know?
The part that finally fits and holds into the bong's female piece.

See on the website you posted, notice the frosted area at the end of the tube, NOT the very top frosted area where the bowl/ash catcher goes, but the one before that. THAT, is what you want to measure. ;)


That's a gnarly ash catcher by the way! Molino makes excellent glass.

alright cool, then if i fully understand what you said danny im pretty sure it will work. only thing is the hole in the bong that the female piece goes into doesnt look like its made for glass on glass downstems. its just a hole, shouldnt it be angled or something? which is the only reason i was going to use a grommet.
