Is this what usually happens??
Ok...they r hangin up dryin...and i stopped watering them bout 4-5 days b4 harvest to help wit dryin process, they felt very dry at time of hangin, like i could snap wit fingers, and its been bout 5-6 days, and they seem as if they were gettin wetter or something....the branches seem more limp and def cannot snap wit fingers...is this the way it usually goes? have i done something wrong? i have read that dryin takes bout 1-3 wks, but sooner if stopped watering prior to harvest which i have done..so i figured they would dry in bout a wk or 2....am i wrong wit this assumption? and should i have cut all individual branches and hang them seperately, and let the main stem/stock hang by itself? i jus cut the plant at the base and hung them up(after trimmin of course) would they dry quicker if cut and hung up seperately? o, and im sure the weather has someting to do wit it? its been like 65-75f during day and 50-60 during nite for the past couple days. sorry if i keep repeatin ne ?'s..im jus tryin to make sure i get the most out of this lil harvest ;) ne help and suggestions deeply 'preciated...thnx

sounds too me like your trying to dry them in a damp atmosphere but what doi know

Sounds like your buds are in a humid area. Get those buds in a dry room, with no humidity, and hang them up. Don't let the buds touch each other or mold will form. Give them plenty of room to dry. If you can, get a fan in the drying area to circulate air, but don't let the fan blow directly on the buds as that will dry them out too quickly, which could result in a harsh smoke.

i dont think its all that humid...again it is on the 3rd floor.....some of them r touchin eachother so should i go ahead and clip the braches and hang them up seperately? yea i already do have a fan in there and it is pointed inderectly from the plants. what bout the temp? like i said it has been relatively cool outside the past few days and will probably b so for a while...im in the NE...today it was only like 64F or so and wit a low of bout 56F...so its gettin pretty cool...i have no other o better spots to put really...thats y its in tha spot it is. it doent feel humid up there, but im not 100% sure...is there some thing i could or need to do? thnx

i think it needs more ventalation, get a fan blowing into the closet, but not directly onto the plant. also, this migt be completley wrong, but maybe by putting a big stack of newspapers, or paper towel, or cardboard or wood into the closet will absorb excess moisture in there.
I've never had to dry a plant before, but i will be this fall (my first gow)
i dont have enough space to hang the plants since i live with my parents, so
what i was going to do is cut all the smokeable parts, and put them in shoeboxes in my wooden drawers. i'll check on them daily, rotating them, and letting them get air. I have tested this out with other plants and it worked out pretty good. once the twigs are brittle enough, i'll start curing.

during my grow(at the start) i was told that if its in a decently small closet that jus by opening the door to check on them and wha not would b enough vent. I have no other way of venting the closet at the moment....that newspaper/cardboard etc.. idea sounds interesting...does that actually work? thnx

cut all your buds off the stem, drop them into brown paper lunch bags, just a few per bag, so the air can flow between them, one fold at the top ... open the sack up for 5-10 minutes per day, until dry to where you like it ... :smokin:
