either make drainholes because its not good to grow in pots without drainholes. You can get root rot very easy.
That is correct...clay pots are fine but you need to use a mason drill bit and make a bunch more holes to get the water out faster and don't let it collect around the bottom edges too that is where many people make a mistake. The water pools at the bottom edges and then soaks inward and causes problems.
No problem with properly-draining clay pots per se, but your life will be easier if you use plastic because when it is time to transplant the whole root ball just slips out of plastic, where with clay, you sometimes have to break the pot.
k thnk i have th plants in clay, 1 gallon, and what are symptoms of root rot?
Totally inexplicable wilting. The roots are basically useless if they get bad rot.
hi,
it is unlikley that you have root rought unless you have been seriously over watering or have zero drainage... always add extra perlite to your soil to assist with drainage and eliminate overwatering issues..

Clay pots suck the water/ moisture out of the soil, away from the plant. Your plants will dry out much quicker and you'll have to water alot more frequently. I wouldn't recommend them, plus they make transplanting much harder...
