seedlings
ive got sum seedlings with 2 sets of leaves on atm and i had my 400 watt hps lamp at the top of my cupboard as a hps lamp is a bit heavy going for seedlings. I've decided to lower it to half way down the wardrobe, about a foot away from the seedlings as i did not want them to stretch uptowards the light and become spindly, however the leaves have pointed upwards towards the light which they did not do before. Anyone know why this is?

I would be intrested to see the answer for this bobby. I lowered my lamps last when my plants went into flower and the exact same thing happened. mine are fine but still the leaves point up to the lights and only the ones directly under the lamp. so come on those in the know lol is this BAD .be safe the postman.

the only thing that i can think of is that i stressed them out by lowering the light such a dramatic amount so suddenly, the leaves literally started pointing upwards after 5 minutes so if anyone can help me and the postman could do with an answer.

I'm leaing toward heat. Do you have pictures?

It IS heat. That's why the leaves are pointing up. Move the lights away a cuple of inches or get rid of the heat. You want it as close as you can get the light, but make sure the tops of the plants are cool, about 75F
