Hi All
I posted in indoor grow but had no responses,(not a very exciting question) so here I am. Does anyone know if using a metal pot that has rust can harm a plant? Can the iron seep into the soil? I would appreciate any input.
Thanks a bunch

Typicly plants that have red or purple leaves will absorbe iron througt the soil. If you ever have aquarium plants or even some house plants that are red you will want to add some iron into the water.
With a canabis plant I dont see a problem with a little rust in the pot. All plants need a small amount of all nutrients, that includes iron.
The worst thing that I could see happen is that you might get some reddening of the leaves and stems. But even if that happens you wont notice any thing in the end result.
Generally you should bot grow in metal pots, as the metals can interact with your fertilizer.
Even though cannabis needs Fe, with a rusty bucket you have no control over dosing and an excess of iron can lock out other nutrients, resulting in mulitple-nutrient deficiency even though those elements may be present in your soil.
So transplant into nonreactive plastic.
