what kind of lighting

would i need if i were going to grow 10 plants? i want to use floresant, but how many? and what wattage?

Go with HPS lamps (High preasure sodium), although they are more expencive it will be worth it.
I could be wrong but id of thought 3 of them at 600watt possibly 400watt would do the trick.

u can go fluoro or hid lights...its really up to u, the main dif will be the results...fluoros are chepper and suck less power then hid´s but metal halide and high pressure sodium will give u a better yield....remember that 4 u to have 10 plants u will need lots of light and a nice grow area (unless u´re doing sog)...10 plants at least a 600w hid bulb imo

well what if im using floros? how many watts? whats the wattage to plant ratio? like 100w floro bulb per plant?

so basically simplified, how many watts would it take for 1 plant?

yup those work (6500k) (2100) but what they are trying to say is while yes the floros will work but you would need like 20 of those tubes for it to be worth it while a single HID bulb will do much more.

if it was me id just invest into a 400watt hps and grow 4 plants you will get more out of those 4 plants vs. what the tubes would do with 10

what if you got cool white flouros and HPS for flowering? just wondering.

also, with HID lighting does it have to be close to the plant? like will it stretch if it's higher up?

kGod just go to walmart or fred meyers, walmart has better prices. Go to the light bulbs and find the highest wat compact floro light (CFL) you can. buy 5-10 of them and that will be plenty. then once u kill the males u will have even more light per female.
