A few simple question from a first timer
Hi guys,
Just a few simple question after looking around on the site but can't seem to find any answers.
Its my first time grow so please be gentle.
I,m looking at growing four Skunk#11 each in a 11 litre square plastic pot in a 1 Metre BudBox under a 400W Phillips Son T PIA lamp.
The question is, can I plant from germination straight into this size pot? also, what sort of distance should I keep the light at and should it on 24h until I want to flower?
Second, the seeds have just started to sprout after 24h soak in kitchen paper, can I put them in soil now or should I wait until the tap root is a little longer and once in the soil do I need to put them under the light or just keep them warm until the plant shows it head and then put them in the tent?
Any Advice much appreciated
Baz

Get the plants in the soil under the light if you all ready haven't. Don't start the light too close, idealy seedlings should go under Fluorescent lighting at first because HID's are so powerful. Keepp that light kind of far at first and then gradualy bring it closer over the next coupl of weeks.

My theory on transplanting is to start with smaller pot so the plant can use up the nutes in the soil. Then it can use the new nutes from the new soil after transplant. Just be careful with the roots. A plant will do fine with no nutes added cause the are nutes in good soil. Plants just do a lot better if you give correct amount on nutes by adding them.

I always advise starting in smaller pots to make most efficient use of your space. Remember you are going to get around half males, maybe some herms that have to be killed, and maybe a couple lame plants that you will end up culling.
So if you start in the pot you are going to end in, in a restricted sized area, you will end up with empty space at the end.
Start 3-4x the number of seeds you want to see grow to harvest, in pots that are... obviously.. 1/4-1/3 the size or less of your final pot size.
That way after you cull out the runts, males, and chicks with dicks, you will have just about exactly the right number of plants to fill the space using the final big pots.
