DAMN GROUNDHOGS!
The climate where I am at is very very warm, so I plant at the end of july, but I have one problem.
Depsite all of the fences, sprays, and human hair and blood I place around my babies (I don't really have to worry about the popo; I am only growing a dozen plants in the middle of my 120 acre farm), groundhogs ALWAYS chew off the tiny leaves that are first sprouting.
A. What ELSE can I do to prevent this?
B. What are the chances of my plants surviving if the first leaves are chewed off, but the rest are left alone?

DAMN GROUNDHOGS!
If you read his post you wouldve read despite all the FENCES he puts up. Im from australia and have no clue what a groundhog is but im guessing it burrows? maybe dig a trench about 1 foot deep (if theyre that shallow) and line it with chicken wire?

DAMN GROUNDHOGS!
I have tried chicken wire, and it digs it up (I buried it 2 feet below ground) so I'm transplanting them to inside an old boat that sits up high in my yard, they've handled it well.
PS: I'm a girl ;)
