I heard from a friend that you cut the bottom leaves if you want to make the plant grower taller rather than spread out, is this true? If not, what could be done to make it grow up? Thanks...

Why u need longer plant? It will produce less bud ,when u cut bottom leaves :O
.
....move the light further from the plant will cause it to strecth up.....
why would you want it taller?to impress your neighbors??haha idiot
Cutting a leaf off on one side then the opposite side on the
next nod and so on will do this I have herd. But why?
taller for better yield? or will it yield better if i top to make it bushier? but wouldn't taht slow growth since it has to rebuild? i want most yield in the least amount of time
In my experience the very lowest branches didn't get as much light, and the buds on them were next to worthless. I usually prune off the bottom few branches, unless they are obviously going to be thicker. I'm not sure about cutting leaves to make them grow taller (although I've heard this as well), the best thing is just to raise the lights.
I prefer taller and less bushy plants (think same amount of branches as a short plant, just spaced out more) because they seem to develop better buds as they get more light.
The best way to make them taller is to raise the light. they may seem thin but once they get done growing up. they will thicken out.
no way. it makes it so your top buds get the most nutirunts. if it has to feed the ones at the bottom that get no light, its a waste. so why not cut the bottom and yeild better on top??????
