At Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. recently the SergeantMajor of the Army, Jack Tilley, was with a group of people visiting thewounded soldiers. He saw a Special Forces soldier who had lost hisright hand and suffered severe wounds of his face and side of his body.The Sergeant Major of the Army wanted to honor him and show him respect without offending, but what can you say or do in such a situation that will encourage and uplift? How do you shake the right hand of a soldier who has none?
There was a man in that group of visitors who had his wife with him to visit the wounded. He seemed to know exactly what to do. This man reverently took the soldiers stump of a hand in both of hishands, knelt at the bedside and prayed for him. When he finished the prayer, he stood up, bent over the soldier and kissed him on the head and told him that he loved him.

This story was told by the Sergeant Major of the Army, at a Soldiers' Breakfast held at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and recorded by ChaplainJames Henderson stationed there.

As far as I know,it was not a photo-op,and if you were a real soldier,you'd know that what you did,was to protect your family and defend your country..and you wouldn't accept the president's apology because you lost your hand,you'd reassure the president,that you were merely doing your duty,as an American citizen..and as many Christian soldiers and their families have done,you would pray for the president to recieve wisdom from God-to continue to make the best decisions for America-and for his safety ,as well.
Let me ask you this,do you have any idea,just how incredibly blessed that you are,to be in the USA and that you have many blessings ? Are you grateful for any of them ? Is there even one iota of humility within you ?

No I wouldn't accept his half-assed appology. That war was not to protect America at all. Iraq was not a threat to us. We did not need to rush into that war. I am greatful for our freedoms here in the US, but are you really that blind Torog? How is attacking Iraq defending our freedom??? We are a lot less free than you think Torog. I am a republican, but unlike you, I am a free-thinking individual and am not blinded by our parties beliefs. Every liberal is not wrong and every conservative is not right. You are correct about one thing though. I am not a soldier. I'm a Marine.

Let me ask you this-would you rather that we fight this war on our street's-or theirs ?
Also,don't you realize that President Bush acted on the belief that saddam was more than willing to provide assistance to terrorists,and don't you realize that because we are in Iraq,that we are now poised,with the assets we need in the region to take care of the Iran and Syrian problem ?
Do you think that saddam should still be in power ?
Do you believe that the State of Israel,should be destroyed-that saddam should have been left in power so that he could provoke Israel into a nuclear war with the entire region ?
Just curious,as to why a marine wouldn't want to engage with a known enemy,who threatens our allies,invaded Kuwait and sought to destabilize the entire region and hold the Free World hostage in regards to his strategic reserves of oil.
