smoking can lead to depression yeah.. Thats one of the main reasons why i quit..
o.. I like to smoke ciggies.. (ya cancers cancer, gatta die somehow).. but I don't like depression.. maybe I should just stop smoking them.. or make sure I always have enough weed on me?
nah, actually, taking week breaks are good, lowers your tolerance alot, and month breaks leave you flying
yea, I get the whole tolerence concept.. I usually take a week break if I've been drinking + smoking too much, just to gather my self up my own rehab ;)
From what I've read, depression after quitting smoking weed is a very very common thing. In some people, it can be serious.
The Erowid site has really good info on various cannabis effects, including those after quitting. They refer to "anhedonia," which is reduced experience of pleasure. Depression and anhedonia feel a lot alike.

I never really thought of weed being the cause, cuz I've been toking for quite some time.. and back in the day, toked on and off, not as steady as now.. but never felt this way when I took tollerance breaks
thanks for the info guys
(also birdgirl, you are extremely helpful.. every topic, (2 I think?), you've helped me a great deal.. for that I thank you)
I think you'd make a good Mod.
Maybe it has more to do with other aspects of your life rather than just cannabis? I mean, yeah, it's a big part of your life, but maybe it's something more? If a person can become seriously depressed from not smoking for a single day, you either need to lay low on the green or seek professional help. It's only a plant! ~
no, its not smoking ciggs for a day, I havnt smoked weed for a few days.. like 4 I think
and the only other aspect would be, a lot of my friends are changing.. but I never felt that bothering me before, people grow apart
Thanks for the kind words, Juggalo. Glad to be of help. I certainly enjoy playing on this board and talking about stuff that interests me, but for me, somehow being a mod would make it like work instead of play. So I'll just keep enjoying being one of the ones who needs moderation instead! (Besides, I'm about to medical school in a week and a half and won't even have time to play anymore after that starts.)
You know, there's no certainty that feeling a little depressed has to be because of quitting weed. Stopping regular weed use apparently does have a depressive affect on plenty of people. But millions of people also just get depressed for no clear-cut reason. I certainly do. And when there are lots of changes in my life or my routine or my friends, that's more likely to happen. The general rule is to seek help or go talk to someone if it lasts longer than three solid weeks or if you're feeling so down you don't feel like functioning. There are good past posts here on the boards from Ganjasaurus Rex about vitamin and dietary changes that can be effective in improving depression. I've experienced depression when I've been running low on vitamin B12. For any type of depression, I find that exercise of any kind is the best antidepressant there is.
I hope you feel better soon, sweet friend!
