Any fans of The Verve/Richard Ashcroft

I just started to really get into his/their music and I am starting to think The Verve was the best band since The Beatles; Ashcroft is just amazing. Nobody really knows who he is over in the USA, music sucks over here. :mad:

Is there other good British bands or solo artists in the vein of The Verve, Coldplay, Oasis, Blur, etcâ?¦ I should look out for, or is British music going in the shitter too?
