Have to quit for a while.

Today my dad talked to me about it. He said that its illegal and it can get me and him into alot of trouble. He said that he tried it in his 20s a few times so he isnt saying he thinks its good or bad. He just said its illegal and thats all that matters. He made me promise him that I wouldnt do it until I was out of the house. I'm not going to say he was unreasonable. But I would say that he vastly overestimates how much trouble you can get it for it. I can quit, but I really don't want to. My parents are too closed minded to understand why I like it, they just think I like the euphoria and thats it. But whatever, I know I promised him but I can't really honor that completely. I am going to quit doing it for a month or so.

I figured out that thats most of these peoples problems (other than my mom). My mom doesnt care but my grandma is stucked on laced shit, she thinks everyone smokes laced weed -_-. And my dad just says he doesnt like it because it's illegal. I really dont care :p.

He kept saying that if I were caught with it, then it would be all over the news and it would ruin him and the family. I just told him thats not true and that the worst that would happen is I would be put on probation.

well if you can prove you can quit for a month your dad will know it doesnt control you and you can control it.
but a bit closed minded considering he's tried it before.

Your dad sounds like a good guy. You can either do what he says, or you could try to convince him you will not get caught by police. And if you smoke at home, you won't. As Marley has said:

Pretty much, just because it is illegal, does not make it wrong.

You know even Jesus broke the law, and many biblical scholars say that cannabis is mistranslated in the bible.

Explain to your dad that you will not get caught if you smoke it at home, and that you are not done experiencing this new thing in life. Maybe you could reason with him, if not, respect his wishes(or at least, don't get caught).
