ummm lol windows is the biggest virus in and of itself....
get linux, bitch.
What are you trying to do that you want to 'upgrade' XP...which, there really isn't one aside from the SPs. Get a Knoppix ISO, grab Oreillys Running Linux (5th ed I think they have now) and fire it up! A whole new world awaits!
get linux i use red hat myself but that machine went down so now i am sadlly using an xp machine :(
I installed linux once, and absolutely everything I tried to download or open resulted in an error message.
and really, viruses aren't really a problem with XP if you know how to remove them.
what so great about linux anyway?
You haven't thought about trying one of the live-CD distros? That could be a easy compromise. I keep a copy of Knoppix STD .01 in my CD case and also have a Libretto L5W with Debian. Now putting Debian on that machine while I was a Linux newb was not the smartest thing to attempt...but I muddled through it. Still haven't worked on some of the drivers though.Quote:

If your copy is legal then just go to the micro site here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/default.mspx and check
for the latest patches, fixes ect. . . .
Peace. . . .
i was always a linux person its like running a mac but u aint gota buy a billion dollar mac machine
I always preferred windows over linux... Windows practically works for itself while there is a big learning curve to linux... I ran linux for 5 months and just could never get to like it... maybe if linux was what i started on it might be dif,but I don't think so...
