THC tolerance anfd limitations

Ok, I'm trying to clear up a rumor I heard, and verify a theory. :confused:

I have heard that at a certain point, you are as high as you will be, no matter how much you smoke. I was told this is because you can only get *so* high, and that your body can only accept so much THC. Also, I have heard that different people have different THC tolerances (Also effected by how much they smoke), which doesn't have anything to do with experience; That it's genetic.

I theorized that no matter how good your bud is, hydroponic sticky and skunky or dirt-brown mersh, if you smoke enough to get high, you're as high as you're going to get. So, if this is correct, I say stick to buying the lows if you won't get any higher with highs.

Can anybody help me clear this subject up? Calling all mcgyver/professor smokers... :rolleyes:

well the brain controlz how high u get. different ppl also have different tolerancez an are affected differently by cannabis. there iz a certain point at which uve reached yer max but it variez by the day. sum dayz i get alot higher off the same bud then other dayz. the type ov bud iz obviously also a large variable az ta how high u'll get. if u smoke enuff u can get a high that u never thot possible frum weed, but truss me u dunt wanna go there haha. itz best ta juss smoke till u feel high, cuz aftyer that point yer rlly not gunna get THAT much higher.

Different strains will get you different highs.

You could smoke a ton of one strain and be blown off your ass...then smoke another strain and get even more 'fucked up'

yea.some good sticky icky will get u higher then dirt weed though,due to a higher thc content then dirt weed.and i aint saying like 20% thc,im saying like even just 12 percent thc is pretty strong pot.and when u do come across some really exceptional bud,tehre is no easy way of telling but,good estimate like 21 percent thc or something it would knock u on ur ass off one hit.u just have to experiment with different weeds,and with amounts of smoking.but definitley go for the best weed u can get.ull be surprised at how high ull get.

I was already faced when I wrote that, so I see now I didn't really clear up the question.

What I was trying to verify is this: There is a theory that no matter how high the THC content in what you're smoking, you can only get so high. So let's say you smoke some mersh and it takes you a full bag just to get high. Right? But you're high.

Then, you smoke some bubble hash, and you get faced in 2 or 3. You're still only so high, despite what you paid for. There hasn't, in my experience, been any strain or blend of weed that gets you THAT MUCH higher than everything else. I've been smoking for a pretty damned long time, and I've tasted some sticky icky sensi from BC, and I've had dirt weed from Mexico, and everything in between. In fact, back in my youth, I smoked shit I wasn't even sure WAS weed. All I've learned through this is that you're only gonna get so high, regardless of how good your shit is.

That's my theory. I wanted to know if anybody had any kind of science to back that theory up, or break it down. It just seems to me that your brain can only be so affected by THC, no matter how much you smoke.

-high
-stoned
-sick

lol so i figure after i smoke as much as i need to get high..and then i get greedy and try to smoke more, i just end up feeling like shit.

It's true that if you smoke a certain amount of one strain, you can only get so high. But if you mix it...or smoke a couple of bowls of BC and then switch and smoke a couple of bowls of Haze, you'll get beyond blazed. I gaurntee you. Just because they are different kinds of highs.

Just like shwagg/dro. Two different kinds of highs. If you look at it like "man, i'm so fucked up off of this $10 bag of shwagg....i don't need dro." Then, be my guest...only buy shwagg. Dro or good KB will get you a different type of stoned...a stoned i prefer over the shwagg high.

However, I was just trying to clear this theory up, because I know alot of newbies who get sick when they smoke too much, thinking they're gonna get some ultra-euphoric orgasmic high. It just doesn't happen. I can testify to that, man. Lots of times I've smoked more than I needed to get high, and I just ended up feeling like shit.

So, the moral of the story: Smoke till you're high, then enjoy it. if you're coming down, smoke some more. But give it time. THC doesn't take full effect on the brain for at least 20 minutes after you smoke, so wait it out. Usually you're higher than you think, you just have to realize it.
