Wow.. it has been a while
Hey
I never posted here that much, but i read constantly. That was about 10months ago,since then I've got into a whole lotta' trouble about smoking pot. I know, shit one right? I was made to quit, it was hard. I realised how empty my life was without pot, and how 100% of my social life revolved around it.
I also noticed that it generally made me a very angry guy, I hated everyone. About 6 months after I stopped, I realised the road I was heading in with it, all the memory loss, general paranoia, the people I was involved in and the fact that it was always going to be a downhill journey. I much happier without it, yeah there are a few times and areas (especially social) that I miss it in, but Im a much smarter better person cause of it.
This isn't meant to be a patronizing anti-drug statement, Im only 16. But ask yourself, if you didn't have cannabis, what would your life be like? Yur social circle, your social life, your problems and all that; out of curiosity what type of person du think you'd be without it?

me and my social circles dont revolve around pot, pot revolves around us.lol.
actually i havent smoked that much cause i been going to job corp. pot effects everyone different, i have a friend that totally flips and freaks out thats why he drinks know. but me personaly pot is great

Nicely put. Without dope, I'm sure I wouldn't get so much exercise. I go for long hikes in the country to enjoy my smoke that much more. Also, without weed I've found I end up drinking quite a lot, and getting fat.
I'd rather be a skinny stoner and forgo my short term memory than be a fat, angry boy. Not that there's anything wrong with being fat per se. It's just I've been fat before, and girls didn't like me so much. And I got sweaty so bad.
And I get all tetchy if I don't have my smoke. And it's nice, to knock one out before bedtime.
Which is what I'm gonna do right now.

If I didn't smoke pot, I'd still be cutting myself, I'd still be much more of an anti-social hermit crab, and I'd still hate every single person in the world.
Since I started smoking, i realized how stupid all of these things are. Sometimes I get a little depressed, but who doesn't?
I don't even smoke that much, though. I can make a bowl last me throughout the day, well...at least until about 9 or 10 pm. So, I don't worry about it too much.

That's me, word for word...
I was homeless and poor before I started smoking... Now, I have a place to stay and I'm starting to pay people back the money that I borrowed from them... It made my life a lot better, and my loved ones can see that, they tell me so

I think you had problems with pot because you are 16 and still live with your parents.
When you are older and more responsible, I think all of those problems concerning social circles, social life, etc. will take care of themselves irregardless of cannabis use or not.
If I didn't have cannabis my life would be more boring than it already is.
Why do you think you are a much smarter person because you stopped smoking? That doesn't really make any sense. You said you were experiencing memory loss, general paranoia, and hanging out with the wrong crowd...Jesus! How much pot are you smoking at the age of 16? I mean I smoke pot everyday, all-day long and I don't get paranoid and my memory is probably only a little shoddy due to alcohol and other substances.
Do you think pot makes you stupid? I tend to disagree. Weed makes me think in a much more creative and imaginative manner.
My advice to you: Start smoking again when you don't live with your parents (unless they approve of cannabis use), when you have a steady income large enough to support yourself with, and when all of those ridiculous high school social circles disappear.

I should have read the whole board before posting...
I know this sounds crazy...
BUT I SWEAR THAT POT CURED MY OCD...
I am dead serious. I used to have extremely bad OCD. I tried different prescription medications and the like but I still had extremely obsessive thoughts no matter what...
Then one day I smoked a bowl at my neighbors house, and suddenly I realized that all of the obsessiveness and worrying was completely insane. I honestly believe I was able to overcome my problem BECAUSE I SMOKE WEED.
Maybe I am just a nutjob... :stoned: ...BUT I truly believe that weed balances me out or something...
Plus, I like being high. :smokin:

I don't directly think it makes you dumb, but it has a lot of factors which contribute to it. I could'nt concentrate, low attention span, memory loss. I couldnt revise cause I'd forget it right away. EG:
French teacher: Now Jason, repeat after me. <insert french here>
Me: Uh.. could you say that again?
French Teacher: <insert french here>
Me: Um.. one more time please?
True story! And this year my grades were A's and B's, last year it was C's B's and D's.

Well.. on a daily basis I guess. And by getting into the wrong crowd, I really was. One of the guys at my school dropped out recently, threatened to stab
me cause I wouldnt buy from him anymore, hes now a hardened waster who I need to avoid. He, who I spent so much of my time with?
An ex-junkie also said to me that when you first smoke pot your at the top of a hill looking down saying 'nah Ill never do as much as that'. 6 Months later, your doing it a bit more. You can't wait for the weekend cause thats when you get high, so you do it during the week. Soon enough, its daily. Then your further down the hill, still looking down at people doing harder drugs, saying 'nah ill never do that'. Cycle continues.
I think thats true, when i started school i said id only try soft drugs, soon i was doing them daily and getting drunk a lot. A few years on, what boundries would I have crossed?
