One going yellow!
Hi all,
I have a lovely little crop of 6 plants that are now 28 days into flower.
Over the past 10 days i have noticed the leaves on one of the plants are very yellow. The plant itself looks as healthy, if not more so, as the others. The flowers are as good, the leaves are perky and basically the whole plant looks absolutely fine.
They were clones to start with and they came from the same person at the same time. Ive been assured they are the same strain and by looking at them i would agree other than the yellower look.
Im not currently worried about it, but what i would like to know is should i be?
Is it an early warning of a problem?
All six plants have been treated exactly the same, no differences are possible with my set-up.
Ill post pics later, but my light doesnt come on till 2pm, and i dont want to wake my babies early :)

One going yellow!
I stopped using veg nutes a day before i changed to 12/12. Whether that is right or wrong, i didnt know. My way of thinking was not to change 2 things in one day...
When i stopped using the veg nutes (Canna Veg A & B) i started with Canna Flores A & B.
The plants are now 40" tall and ill show you with a picture how big the buckets are.
I do wonder if i have a root problem although as ive said the plant looks really healthy, but i cannot get to the roots to look at them. First grow, bad tent location, better planning next time!! It would be one of the plants on the right, because the left i can get to fine!
Pic 1 - The plant in the middle-ish is the one going yellow. Its hard to tell in the pic as the colour difference doesnt seem to notice so much.
Pic 2 - The buckets.
Pic 3 & 4 - just a couple of general shots :rasta:

I have taken a couple more pics to try and show just how yellow the one plant is going.
I guess nobody has any ideas??

It's really hard to tell with the light they're under. But at 28 days into flower, as long as it's just a few lower fan leaves, you should be fine for harvest. Yellowing is common close to harvest time as the plant senses the end of its reproductive cycle and puts all the available nutrients, including those stored in the fan leaves, into budding. This is another reason that trimming the fan leaves is bad practice.

One going yellow!
It is not just the lower fan leaves, it is the whole plant!
Im starting to gather from 1 reply in 140 views that nobody does know why this one plants leaves are ALL turning yellow????
Ill Just keep it seperate when i harvest then, that way if it seems any different to the others i wont have to try and seperate it all..
The light does make it harder to see, but this pic does show for sure how yellow it has become.

You're so close to harvest... smoke a bowl... relax... you've got nice buds.
And next time put some slow release organic N right in your soil mix. Fish emulsion is great.

One going yellow!
I now know myself why the plant went yellow, and why one other plant went yellow.
Basically they were dying!!
So now i have harvested the two that were dying. The airstones in the buckets had become clogged, therefore no oxygen was reaching the roots, therefore the roots die! Jeez, what a f**king smell!!
Still, now i have more room in my tent i am able to keep a better eye on the remaining 4 plants.
So a warning to others:
Unlike me, make sure you can get to the roots to check on them now and again. That way your plants should finish successfully.
Next grow of mine will only be 4 plants because 6 has left me so little room in the tent. I actually believe i will be able to match the yield of the 6 with only 4 and some training..
There you go, lesson learnt by me!
By the way, i quick dried a nice bud by wedging it in the heater vent inside my car for 20mins.
What a lovely smoke!! (even though from a dying plant)
Cant wait for the buds im drying out properly.........:)
